We use a variety of teaching and learning styles in our science lessons, ensuring that children have the opportunity to learn in a variety of ways. Sometimes we do this through whole class teaching, while at other times we engage the children in an enquiry based research activity.

We encourage the children to ask, as well as answer, scientific questions. Wherever possible we involve the pupils in ‘real’ life scientific activities, whereby they plan, carry out the task or investigation, record their findings and analyse the results.

Cross curricular links - creative approaches to learning:

Science pervades every aspect of our lives and can relate to all areas of the curriculum.

The positive effects of science by man kind will be emphasised, but also the problems which some human activities can produce will be discussed.

As part of the creative curriculum at Manor Field, Science is integrated into the themes and learning journeys and where possible is included in the launches and final outcomes of children’s learning.
