At Manor Field School we believe that all children should be given the opportunity to experience a high quality history education. As a result we have developed an exciting new curriculum which puts History teaching and learning right at its centre.

Throughout their time at Manor Field, children will experience a variety of different hands-on, practical activities, which include theme days to provide children with opportunities to empathise with people from the past allowing them to make comparisons with their own lives as well as providing a history rich curriculum for that term. The school uses a variety of teaching and learning styles in history lessons which help to enrich their understanding and immerse the children fully into the period of time they are learning about.

A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world... teaching should equip pupils to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement... – Historical Association

History is visible all around our school as we have launched a new theme based curriculum which encompasses the subject and aims to engage and excite all of our learners. Each year the children will be immersed in different History led themes and will become young historians in a cross curricular approach.
