Our Communication Committment

When we carried out a Communication Survey among parents (in 2014). As a result of this, we have put in place a number of new systems to improve communication. These include:

  • An overview of the school's communication methods
  • Year Group emails to make it easier to contact class teachers
  • Message slips at the entrance to each unit so parents can easily pass on messages to the teacher in the mornings
  • A parent concern slip for staff to complete so that any concerns you have are documented and you are updated on action that has taken place to address the issue
  • Parents' Evenings earlier in the summer term
  • A meet the new teacher session at the end of the summer
  • A termly progress report
  • Clearer expectations for staff about what information should be available on the Virtual Learning Environment
  • A dated diary
  • An annual calendar of events which is updated and sent to parents each term
  • A parent guide to home learning so everyone is clear on what is expected
On your right are key documents to download, hard copies of which are available outside the front office.
We hope that all of these improvements lead to parents feeling that communication between themselves and the school is excellent. If you have any additional ideas for improving communication, please email: suggest@manorfieldschool.org
